Armed Citizen® Today

An uninvited man entered his neighbor’s home and then began assaulting the homeowner during breakfast hours on May 21 in Midwest City, Okla. The homeowner was able to fend off the attack by shooting the home invader.

The suspect was transported to the hospital but ultimately died; the investigation was ongoing. (news9.com; Oklahoma City, Okla.; 5/21/26)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives – February 1987

Stacy Wattenbarger was working on his truck when he saw a man break in the back window of a neighbor's Decatur, Tenn., home. He called the sheriff's department and, along with two other neighbors, cornered the burglar coming out of the house with valuables and held the man at gunpoint until authorities arrived. A suspect was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and third degree burglary. Police commended the neighbors for their quick action. (Post-Athenian; Athens, Tenn.)
