Armed Citizen® Today

A 23-year-old man attending a party on Jan. 10 in Sterling Heights, Mich., became embroiled in an argument with another guest, which started inside but continued outside. The man walked to the end of the home’s driveway, whereupon he allegedly opened fire at the partygoers, striking three of them. Another attendee was also armed, however, and fired back at the man, striking the alleged assailant and ending the attack.

None of the injuries were fatal. The suspect is being charged with three counts of assault with intent to murder, three counts of felony firearm and one count of carrying a concealed weapon. He faces life in prison if convicted of the assault with intent to murder charges. (macombdaily.com, Clinton Township, Mich., 1/12/24)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives – October 1973

The first time 77-year-old Virginia Shoop's apartment was robbed, she lost a television set. When the same robber returned a second time, they escaped with cash. But when one of the same thieves returned a third time, the Wichita, Kan., woman walked to a bureau, took out a pistol and shot the man in the abdomen. (The Wichita Eagle and Beacon, Witchita, Kan.)
