The Nordic Police, comprising of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, recently selected Federal Ammunition’s 62-grain Tactical Bonded .223 Rem. load for duty ammunition. Terms of the agreement include the firm supplying the agencies with up to 35 million rounds over seven years. In addition, Federal’s 5.56 NATO 55-grain Disintegrator Jacketed Frangible was selected as the reduced-hazard training ammunition for the Nordic Police.

The Nordic Police is widely recognized for its stringent performance requirements from products selects. Rigorous, detailed and technically advanced testing precedes any contract it enters.
“This contract validates the trust international law enforcement agencies have in our highly reliable and innovative products that meet and exceed the required specs,” said Gillette. “Federal was selected over a large number of global ammunition suppliers due to technical superiority. We provide top-quality law enforcement and tactical products officers need to have full confidence in any situation.”
Earlier this month Canadian law enforcement agencies also selected Federal products for their officers. In that case the Department of National Defense selected the firm’s .300 Blackout duty and training rounds, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will receive 12-gauge slugs and buckshot duty loads.
Domestic agencies have not overlooked the performance delivered by the company. In June Federal and Remington Ammunition—both members of The Kinetic Group (TKG) family of firms—was awarded a contract with the FBI valued at $77.4 million. Terms of that agreement, which is TKG’s largest-ever with a law enforcement agency, included the companies providing all four rifle cartridges used by the bureau.
