Aero Precision Returns with New Owners

An investment group comprised of family members passionate about firearms and the outdoor sports has purchased Aero Precision, Ballistic Advantage, Stag Arms and VG6. The transaction ends more than two years of financial challenges faced by the firms.

“To the customers, dealers, distributors, vendors, and industry partners who continued to believe in our brands and stand beside us: thank you,” the firm said in the announcement. “Now, we get to move forward. We’re coming back.”

White Wolf Capital, a private equity firm that began operation in 2011, was the previous owner. It “recapitalized” Aero Precision in September 2013. A series of firearm-related company acquisitions quickly followed.

Aero Precision, for example, purchased a majority stake in Ballistic Advantage in 2014. That company, which specializes in barrel manufacturing, was established in 2008 and gained an enviable reputation for quality products that perform.

The next year, VGS, a manufacturer of muzzle devices and accessories, was added to the roster. Stag Arms, a firm widely recognized for its AR designs since 2003, was purchased by White Wolf Capital In 2016.

Significant expansions and moves followed. In 2021, Aero Precision announced it was leaving Tacoma, Wash., where it had been headquartered since its 1994 founding. Lakewood, Wash., was the new location, and it wasn’t long before its 800 staff members began working from the 268,000-square-foot facility.

Meanwhile the post-COVID gun-sales slowdown struck. There’s no confirmation it played a role, but financial challenges were confirmed by the Tacoma Daily Index on June 3, 2026. Aero Precision and Ballistic Advantage were placed in receivership—which is not bankruptcy—by a Washington state Superior Court the month before.

According to the Aero Precision announcement late last week, the new owners, “…share many of the same values as the customers and communities our brands serve, including a strong belief in and commitment to the Second Amendment. They believe deeply in what already exists here: incredibly strong brands, proven products, talented people, loyal customers, and state-of-the-art American manufacturing facilities and equipment that are among the most advanced in the industry.”
