Remington is slowly addressing market gaps within its lineup of handguns—following the release of the company’s RM380 and R51 pistols—with a value-priced, duty-sized 9 mm Luger that was made public in 2017. The Remington RP9 is a striker-fired recoil-operated pistol with a real-world price hovering around $300. The gun comes with an 18-round, flush-fitting detachable box magazine that rests within a grip frame sized to accommodate most hand sizes. The pistol features a 4.5” barrel in a steel, PVD-coated slide that’s topped with three-dot sights that are drift adjustable. Remington designed the pistol to address the needs of both left- and right-handed shooters—an additional slide-lock is mounted on the guns right side, and the magazine release button is switchable. Check out this week's NRA Gun of the Week video as American Rifleman's Mark Keefe runs down the features of this full-size polymer pistol.
