Springfield Armory Echelon Central Operating Group

Springfield Armory announced the release of its Central Operating Group, the serialized component of the company’s popular Echelon platform. Now available as an individual offering, the COG allows shooters to put together the precise Echelon configuration they want. Using compatible OEM and aftermarket components, users select the grip module, slide assembly, barrel, sights, magazines and accessories to create a complete pistol built around the Echelon COG.

OEM grip module options include Compact, Full-Size with Compact dust cover (designed for a 4-inch slide assembly) and Full-Size configurations. Simply combine your preferred grip module with either the 4- 4.5-inch slide assemblies, both of which are available in either standard or integrally compensated configurations. Aftermarket options are also available in the growing Echelon-based ecosystem, such as the Sharps Bros grip module.

Manufactured using advanced processes and precision machining, the COG is engineered to provide exceptional durability and exact tolerances. Its stainless-steel construction ensures consistent performance and long-term reliability. Crucial elements of the trigger are machined from tool steel, while surfaces are polished and coated to reduce friction, delivering smooth take-up and maintaining a predictable break.

“The serialized Central Operating Group established the modular nature of the duty-grade Echelon pistol from the beginning,” said Steve Kramer, vice president of marketing for Springfield Armory. “With the release of the standalone COG, shooting enthusiasts now have the means to craft a pistol configured exactly for their needs.”

As an additional safety measure, the COG features a unique second-sear design to help prevent unintentional discharge should the firearm be dropped. Please remember that, as a serialized part, the COG is considered to be a firearm, and purchase requires being transferred through an FFL. MSRP is $295, visit springfield-armory.com for more information about the COG and other firearms from Springfield Armory.
