In Houston around 2 a.m. on Oct. 29, a man, his girlfriend and their 1-year-old child were awakened by someone trying to kick in their door. The father opened the door and discovered a stranger in a “Dumb and Dumber” costume (an orange suit and orange top hat), but neither he nor his girlfriend recognized the person trying to enter.
The stranger allegedly rushed into their apartment, claiming it was his apartment. The man attempted to get the intruder to leave, including trying to push him back out, but he reportedly resisted, so the man shot him once with an AR-style rifle. The suspect was rushed to the hospital in critical condition; the armed citizen and his family were unharmed. (cw39.com; Houston, Texas; 10/29/26)
