Armed Citizen® Today

Two men and a woman in St. Louis, Mo., allegedly attempted to break into a home the night of July 9. A man inside encountered them and attempted to hold the suspects until police could arrive, but one of the men began running while firing shots at the resident. The resident fired back, striking and killing the purported assailant. The other two suspects were arrested and face charges of second-degree (felony) murder and second-degree attempted burglary. Mann Leiser was alerted by alarms sounding in his Anchorage, Alaska, greenhouse. He armed himself and discovered an intruder in the greenhouse. The gardener pointed his revolver at the man while his wife called police, but the intruder tried to escape. The man broke through the greenhouse only to find Leiser's son and police waiting. The man was taken into custody and charged with first-degree burglary. (The Daily News; Anchorage, Alaska)
