Armed Citizen® Today

Around midnight on Feb. 11, a homeowner in Limestone County, Ala., reportedly discovered a man breaking into his vehicle.

The would-be robber, who was wearing a bulletproof vest and a ski mask and was carrying both a rifle and a pistol, allegedly chased the homeowner into his home while pointing the rifle at him. The homeowner then fired at the suspect multiple times, causing him to flee.

Police were notified shortly thereafter that a man with a gunshot wound was at the hospital, where they arrested him. He faces charges of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, burglary in the first degree and robbery in the first degree. (abc3340.com, Birmingham, Ala., 2/14/25)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives – August 1983

A Seguin, Texas, nurse awakened when something bumped her bed and discovered a man wearing a stocking over his head. He threatened to kill her and her young son if she did not submit to him. Pretending to get a tissue from the nightstand, she instead retrieved a pistol and shot him. The would-be rapist grappled with the woman, trying to turn the gun on her, but she stopped the attack, seriously injuring him with two more shots. (The Express, San Antonio, Texas)
