Armed Citizen® Today

A man allegedly forced his way into a home in Commerce, Texas, around 9 p.m. on July 27 and pointed a gun at the inhabitants, demanding their property. One report says the occupants attempted to flee on foot, whereupon the suspect fired on them. The occupants returned fire, however, striking the purported assailant multiple times.

The suspect has a lengthy criminal record and is now facing new charges of burglary, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. (heraldbanner.com; Greenville, Texas; 8/2/26)

Linda Henderson had received phone calls from a stranger who said he intended to "come over." When two men began to batter down the door of the 53-year-old woman's north Houston, Texas, apartment, Henderson immediately phoned the police. As the door was kicked in Henderson fired several shots from a .38-cal. revolver, fatally wounding one intruder. The other intruder escaped. No charges were filed against Henderson.
