SIG Sauer, Inc. has announced an expansion of its popular line of M400 rifles. The new SIGM400 Elite offers shooters an upgraded rifle that continues the long-standing tradition of The Complete Systems Provider delivering only the finest and most dependable firearms.

"Since 2010, the M400 has been one of SIG's most successful rifle platforms due to its reliability, accuracy and feature set that distinguishes it from other competitive models," said Tom Taylor, chief marketing officer and executive vice president, commercial sales. "For 2017, we wanted to once again raise consumer expectation by delivering an accuracy-driven rifle that comes equipped with all the desirable features that shooters look for in a complete AR system."

The new M400 Elite holds true to the exacting standards of the original model yet includes upgraded components that make it the perfect out-of-the box rifle. Among the upgrades is a lightweight, full-length, free-floating M-LOK handguard to ensure consistent, unimpeded accuracy and promote better handling. This valuable component, commonly an aftermarket add-on, surrounds a 16", 1:7" twist barrel with SIG Micro-Light Gas Block, which weighs just half an ounce.

Instead of a standard M4-style stock and A2 grip, the SIGM400 Elite ships with upgraded furniture, including a SIG Enhanced six-position buttstock for optimal length of pull and an Enhanced SIG Pistol Grip for improved control during firing. Another upgrade—the SIG Enhanced single-stage trigger—features a lighter trigger pull and crisper feel. Together, these enhancements provide the shooter with an out-of-the-box AR that is accurate, lightweight and dependable.

Completing the system, the M400 Elite can be purchased with or without the company's ROMEO5 red-dot sight installed for fast, accurate target acquisition. With SIG Sauer Motion Activated Illuminated (MOTAC) technology, the ROMEO5 turns on from motion and powers down when not in use, extending battery life to 40,000 hours.

The M400 Elite will initially be offered in anodized black and Titanium Cerakote versions.
