In 2023, Weatherby introduced its first new rifle action in 50 years with the 307, a rifle that offered an affordable and modular option to the company’s legendary bolt-action catalog. New for 2024, Weatherby is adding two additional 307 models, with the Alpine CT and Adventure SD.

Both new models include all the features established with the 307 series, including a Model 700-footprint receiver and parts compatibility, a two-lug bolt with an M16-style extractor and tool-less disassembly, and a TriggerTech trigger unit.

The Adventure SD places the 307 action in the iconic Weatherby fancy walnut stock, with its Monte Carlo comb, contrasting rosewood fore-end and grip cap, and maple diamond inlay and spacers. The result is what Weatherby calls “the perfect blend of old-school look with a new-school feel.”

The Adventure SD is available chambered in nine different long-action cartridges, including the company’s proprietary magnums and classics like the .30-06 Sprg. and .270 Win. Instead of a detachable box magazine, the Adventure SD uses a built-in magazine with a hinged floorplate. Its fluted barrel has a threaded muzzle and is equipped with Weatherby’s Accubrake muzzlebrake. Metal parts are finished with Graphite Black Cerakote. The Weatherby Model 307 Adventure SD has an MSRP of $1,799.

The Alpine CT builds upon the original Alpine MDT model. Instead of the MDT’s chassis system, the CT uses a conventionally styled PEAK 44 Bastion stock made of carbon fiber. The ultralight stock fits the Alpine’s backcountry MO. A BSF carbon-fiber wrapped barrel, with threaded muzzle and Accubrake, also saves ounces on a rifle with an overall weight of around 6 lbs., depending on barrel length and chambering.

Right side of the Weatherby 307 Alpine CT.The Alpine CT swaps the Alpine MDT’s chassis for a carbon-fiber stock of a conventional profile.

The Alpine CT is offered in both long and short action versions, with 14 chambering options, from .243 Win. to .300 Wby. Mag. Like the Adventure SD, the Alpine CT uses an integral magazine. It has an MSRP of $2,199. For more details, visit Weatherby's site here.
