Thanks to Davidson’s position as one of the largest firearm distributors in the country, the company convinces manufacturers to craft unique models and product combinations for their buyers. The resulting configurations from the Davidson’s network of dealers are ones you just won’t find anywhere else. This stand-out Springfield Armory pistol, complete with a robin’s egg blue polymer frame and a stainless-steel slide, is one such option. What’s more, this package comes with five magazines and a handy carrying case, making it easy to head to the range. Watch our video above to see this unique Hellcat Pro OSP in use on the range.

We’re familiar with the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro OSP here, having covered it extensively in the magazine and previously right here on Gun of the Week. We commended Springfield for bridging the gap between traditional compact handguns and micro compacts with the Hellcat Pro, which provides a slightly larger platform with additional capacity, to boot, compared to the almost-ubiquitous micro-compact design embodied by Springfield’s original Hellcat. With the Pro model, you get a flush-fit magazine capacity of 15 rounds, and the gun takes extended 17-round magazines as well. Even with the extra capacity, it’s still slim, trim and easy to carry.

When it came to finish options, though, Springfield only offered its Hellcat Pro in all-black, initially, and then added a flat-dark-earth option later on. However, if you were looking for a more custom finish, well, you had to head to a custom shop for that. Now, though, Davidson’s is making it easy to get a unique color combination right from the factory. This particular Davidson’s Exclusive stands out on the range, and for those who are looking for a self-defense firearm that looks great as well as shoots great, this offering is the only way to get it without expensive and time-consuming custom work.

At the top of the slide, the milled section to accommodate an optic of the Shield RMSc footprint is still there, albeit covered with a matte-black cover plate that gives the slide a striking accent when used without an optic, and black accents are continued throughout the design, including the trigger shoe, push-button magazine release, takedown lever and slide-stop lever.

Going to the range is when you really reap the full benefits of this Gear Up Package, as it comes with a whole pile of extra magazines. Davidson’s ensures that you get four 15-round, flush-fit magazines along with the 17-round extended magazine, so you can load up and have dozens of rounds at your disposal, meaning you can spend more time shooting and less time loading magazines. We also appreciated the convenient carrying case, which made transporting this pistol easy. For not much more than the cost of a base Springfield Hellcat Pro, you can have this custom-finished model and all the extra magazines, saving you time and money.
