Aimpoint enhanced the capabilities of its Acro reflex pistol sight with its next-generation P-2 model. The Acro P-2 features an improved LED emitter that's been paired with a larger CR2032 battery, giving this new optic an incredible battery life of 50,000 hours, a huge improvement over the first-generation model.

“Aimpoint engineers more than tripled the Acro P-2’s battery life and managed to fit a larger battery into the sight while keeping it accessible to the user and maintaining the exact same compact footprint as the Acro P-1, a daunting task that only our engineers could achieve,” said Erik Jeppsson, sales & marketing director for Aimpoint AB.

The Aimpoint Acro P-2 retains the enclosed optical channel of the first-generation model, and the sight was the first dedicated pistol optic built in such a way. With this design, dust, dirt and moisture couldn't block the emitter or the inside of the lens, ensuring that shooters had a dependable sighting system that could withstand use in any environment. Thanks to its dedicated design, the Acro P-2 is also built to withstand the intense G-forces experienced when riding on a handgun slide. This new model withstood 20,000 rounds of .40 S&W ammunition and experienced no issues.

When viewing through the optical channel, users will find a 3.5-MOA dot that provides plenty of accuracy at extended ranges while remaining easy enough to pick up instantly when acquiring the target. The sight also includes an all-new adjustment keypad that allows users to dial in the intensity of the dot. This keypad is now found next to the battery compartment, which prevents unintended adjustments as the sight bumps up against objects.

While the Aimpoint Acro P-2 is designed for use on a handgun slide, it also makes for a durable and dependable rifle and shotgun optic, too, and the company offers flip-up lens covers for use on long guns. Each Aimpoint Acro P-2 weighs 2.1 ozs. and features four night-vision settings and six daylight settings. The optic housing is waterproof and submersible up to a depth of 115 ft. The suggested retail price on the P-2 is $599. For more information, visit aimpoint.us.

Review: Steiner Predator: 4S 4-16X 44 mm

The benefit of a lightweight rifle is lost the moment you top it with a clunky, overweight optic, particularly a lengthy one. To that end, we are starting to see an emphasis on riflescopes that are less cumbersome when mounted, such as Steiner’s Predator 4S.
