FN America has announced the release of an optics-ready variant of its FN 509 Midsize pistol. This combines FN's 15-round frame size with the company's patented optics-mounting platform.

With a 4" barrel, the FN 509 Midsize retains close to full-size performance in a more easily concealable package. The optics-ready model, termed the FN 509 Midsize MRD, features blacked-out co-witness iron sights, which allow the user to better maintain focus on the red-dot without distraction. The pistol ships in a soft-zip case with two either 15- or 10-round magazines, and hardware to help mount more than 10 commercially available optics. The FN 509 Midsize MRD is available at a retail price of $799. For more information, please visit fnamerica.com.
