In recognition of the company’s 30-year anniversary, Magnum Research has introduced a sleeker and upgraded design for its Baby Desert Eagle line of semi-automatic pistols—the III Series. Like the II Series models, the new guns feature a double/single action (DA/SA) trigger, an integral accessory rail for lights and lasers, and combat-style, three-dot, fixed sights, but they differ from their forebears in that they sport trimmed down slides and frames and a lighter total weight.

The new guns also boast an improved trigger pull, precision land and groove match barrel, and a magazine catch that is reversible for either left- or right-handed shooters. Available chambered in 9 mm Luger, .40 S&W and .45 ACP, the III Series guns will be offered in either full-size or sub-compact models, and in both steel- and polymer-framed variants. The new line will also enjoy full magazine interchangeability with its II Series brethren.

Magnum Research will formally introduce the Baby Desert Eagle III at the NRA Annual Meetings in Nashville on April 10-12, 2015. The polymer version of the handguns is expected to start shipping in June 2015, while the steel-framed ones should be available in September. Price: $650.
