Sturm, Ruger & Co. has announced three new .22-cal. firearms: a GP100 revolver; a 10/22 Takedown with target barrel; and a Long Slide SR22 pistol.

The GP100 is a 10-round revolver that is designed with features favorable to target shooting, small-game hunting and recreational shooting. It features a 5.50" half-lug barrel for improved handling and lighter weight, and an improved fire control system that uses a lighter mainspring than previous Ruger double-action .22 LR revolvers.

"Ruger has always been on the cutting edge of revolver technology, with the first polymer revolver, and now with a .22 LR revolver that has the same light trigger pull as our center-fire GP100 revolvers," said Chris Killoy, Ruger President and COO.

The all stainless-steel GP100 in .22 LR features a windage and elevation adjustable rear sight with a white outline, a light-gathering fiber optic front sight and the original full-size GP100 rubber grips with hardwood inserts for a very distinctive look.

Next on the list is a new 10/22 Takedown with target, which separates into two subassemblies, offering a convenient transport and storage option for the popular Ruger 10/22. The barrel and fore-end of the 10/22 Takedown are easily separated from the action and buttstock by pushing a recessed lever, twisting the subassemblies and pulling them apart. Reassembly is the reverse of takedown, and is quick and easy. The friction fit lockup of the assembly joint is simple to adjust, but will rarely need re-adjustment after the first assembly. The lockup is secure and repeatable, ensuring an accurate return to zero, even when receiver-mounted optics are used.

The Ruger 10/22 Takedown with target barrel features a .920" diameter, 16.10" cold hammer-forged barrel. The barrel is fluted for weight reduction, features a 1/2"-28 threaded muzzle and is fitted with a thread cap. This new target barrel takedown model also incorporates the Ruger Modular Stock System and comes with both low and high comb, standard length of pull modules.

The new Takedown with target barrel is shipped in a convenient carrying case. Multiple attachment points for the padded, single shoulder strap offer different carrying options. The 5.5-pound Ruger 10/22 Takedown is 34.50" long when assembled; each subassembly is less than 20.25" long when disassembled. Utilizing the standard 10/22 action and ten-round rotary magazine (one magazine is provided), the Ruger 10/22 Takedown offers legendary 10/22 reliability in a compact and portable package.

And finally, Ruger has introduced a Long Slide version of the SR22 pistol. The Long Slide SR22 is otherwise identical to the standard SR22, but comes with a 4.50" barrel (an increase of one inch) and a similarly extended slide. This new SR22 offers Ruger customers an alternative model with different balance, both visually and in the hand, and the extended sight radius offers improved accuracy potential.
