One of the more eye catching offerings on the floor at SHOT Show 2018 was the Iver Johnson 1911A1 Carbine. As the name implies, this 16" barrel .45 ACP carbine is built around a 1911A1 pistol frame and slide with classic military features including a matte black finish, fixed sights and double-diamond checkered walnut grip panels.

The much longer barrel simply protrudes for an additional 11" past the traditional removable barrel bushing. The mainspring housing has been grooved to accept the blued steel connector that supports the detachable walnut shoulder stock. This carbine has an overall length of 35", an unloaded weight of 4 lbs. and ships with a single eight-round magazine.

One of the sold-separately accessories on display with this carbine was a 28-round drum magazine. This magazine fits standard, full-size 1911 pistols with a single-stack extension shaped like a typical 1911 magazine. The drum body is made of a transparent polymer to allow operators to keep track of how many rounds are left inside. Suggested Retail: 1911A1 Carbine $698, 1911 Compatible 28-Round Drum Magazine $75
