The Sauer 101 Classic XT accommodates both left- and right-handed shooters and features an Ergo Max polymer stock with Soft Touch coating and a soft rubber recoil pad. The six-lug bolt locks directly into the barrel. The Sauer 101 includes a Dura Safe firing pin safety, a 2-pound trigger pull and a removable double-stack magazine. Collectors refer to these shortened carbines as “trappers,” but that term was never officially used by either Winchester or Marlin. Winchester referred to them as “Baby Carbines” or “Special Short Carbines” on the rare occasions when they were cataloged.
