The National Rifle Association has announced Grand Scholarship winners from the 2024 Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.), a gathering of exceptional students selected for their leadership, initiative and dedication to advancing NRA programs in their communities. Last year’s top-performing participants have collectively received $13,500 in college scholarships, which will be paid directly to the accredited college or technical school of their choice.

The Y.E.S. program—which launched in 1996—is held each summer in Washington, D.C., and brings together high-achieving high school students from across the country for a week of immersive learning focused on the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights and American government. After the summit, participants are given nine months to compete for the prestigious Grand Scholarship by introducing NRA programs in their hometowns and submitting a comprehensive portfolio detailing their efforts.

This year’s entries included impactful community outreach such as hosting Eddie Eagle GunSafe programs, serving on Friends of NRA committees and speaking at local civic organizations. The 2024 Y.E.S. class Grand Scholarship recipients are: Maggie P. from Pennsylvania ($5,000); Nate C. from Virginia ($4,000); Haylee T. from North Carolina ($2,000); Logan P. from Missouri ($750); and Logan E. from Oklahoma ($750). Full last names are omitted to protect their privacy.

Funding for the Y.E.S. program and the Grand Scholarship is provided by The NRA Foundation. This year’s gathering begins July 22 and runs until July 27. Applications are not yet being accepted for the 2026 event, but parents and high school sophomores and juniors are encouraged to visit the YES Program page. The 2025 schedule of events is available there and applications, as well as submission deadlines, will soon be available.

Established in 1990, The NRA Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that raises tax-deductible contributions in support of the National Rifle Association and other organizations. These activities promote firearm and hunting safety, enhance shooting sports, and educate the public about firearms in their historical, technological and artistic contexts.
