The National Rifle Association of America today issued the following statement regarding yesterday’s act of violence in Oregon:

“Yesterday’s terrible act of violence in Oregon serves as another reminder of the importance of a law-abiding armed citizenry. When the attack began, it was a member of the community with a firearm who intervened and stopped the shooter before he could do more harm. His decisive actions exemplify the heroism of everyday citizens who are prepared and ready to respond when innocent lives are on the line.”
