GLOCK owners seeking to shoot rimfire ammunition through their favorite handgun have long had to rely on aftermarket conversion kits of dubious quality and reliability, but those days are finally over.

New for 2020, the Glock 44 is a .22 Long Rifle-chambered, blowback-operated semi-automatic that mimics the dimensions of the prevalent G19 closely enough that the new rimfire can share holsters and magazine pouches with its center-fire counterpart.

One major difference between the two, however, is weight; at 14.5 ozs. empty, the G44 is nearly 10 ozs. lighter than Glock’s compact 9 mm Luger.

Made here in America, the Glock 44 fits right in with the rest of the company’s Gen 5 models in terms of features—that means front slide serrations, bilateral slide stops, a reversible extended magazine release button, a flared magazine well, interchangeable backstraps and a frontstrap absent of finger grooves.

The G44 ships with two polymer, single-stack, 10-round magazines. For more information on the new Glock G44, visit
