Although known for its reliability, the standard Ruger 10/22 rotary magazine holds only 10 rounds. Black Dog Machine, LLC, now manufactures a 50-round drum magazine that fits both standard and highly accessorized, AR-style 10/22s such as the Ruger SR-22.

Weighing about 1 pound unloaded, it has a translucent smoke-colored polymer housing that is held together in a one-piece design. Rounds are loaded one-at-a-time under the feed lips, much like a standard 10/22 magazine, and they line the internal edge of the magazine on a 360-degree sprocket. Pressure on the follower is maintained with an internal spring, which is compressed with the aid of load-assist finger notches accessible through the back side of the magazine.

Made in the United States and available from The Sportsman’s Guide, they retail for a Buyer’s Club price of $63.
