American Rifleman TV was in the middle of all the action at the NRA National Defense Match, which took place in 2013 at the Peacemaker National Training Center in Gerrardstown, W. Va. The match, composed of competitive, recreational and training events, was designed to develop and test defensive rifle skills with general-purpose rifles such as the AR‑15. It included a basic-level event calling for shots and reloads from a variety of positions at distances between 7 and 100 yards, as well as two advanced events conducted on multiple firing bays and natural terrain, with cardboard targets at distances ranging from 3 to approximately 50 yards, and steel targets at various distances out to 600 yards.

To learn more about the Match and see the competitors in action, watch the ARTV segment in its entirety in the above video.
