Armed Citizen® Today

One homeowner's Independence Day involved defending his life and property when he shot and killed an alleged home intruder.

At 1 p.m., the 35-year-old suspect entered the Las Vegas residence through the front door, according to police reports. He encountered the armed homeowner, who fired multiple rounds at the man, killing him in the process.

A young woman told 8 News Now that the deceased suspect first tried entering her home, running up to the door and banging on it before turning to another house, where he later was shot and killed. (8 News Now; Las Vegas, Nev.; 7/4/23)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives – November 1961

A paratroop combat veteran on World War II, James Pandolfi was awakened by the sound of breaking glass as a thief hurled a piece of flagstone through the front door of his Buffalo, N.Y., appliance store. Pandolfini took a .32-cal. semi-automatic pistol from a nearby table, rushed to a bay window and fired one shot at the thief who was fleeing with a stolen TV set, felling him mortally wounded.
