Armed Citizen® Today

A 23-year-old man is dead after attacking a rideshare driver in Fort Mill, S.C., who was armed and willing to defend himself.

Police say the 23-year-old suspect had asked for the rideshare pick-up at a local Motel 6. When the driver arrived, the suspect attacked him in the parking lot with a stun gun and allegedly attempted to strangle the driver before he drew a firearm and fired. The suspect was killed by the shots.

After an initial investigation and questioning, police released an update, saying the shooting was a case of self-defense and that no charges would be filed against the armed driver. (WSOC-TV; Fort Mill, S.C.; 8/18/25)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives – September 1973

In the course of a liquor store stickup, a thief aimed a .32-cal. revolver at Newark, N.J., store owner Michael Lambusta's head and pulled the trigger. The gun misfired, and before the robber could fire again, Lambusta quickly seized his own pistol from a shelf and fired once, fatally wounding his assailant. (The Star-Ledger, Newark, N.J.)
