concealed-carry permit holder stopped a man reportedly threatening people with a knife at a McDonald’s during lunchtime in Coshocton, Ohio, Aug. 31. According to the Coshocton County Sheriff’s office, the 70-year-old concealed carrier drew his gun and ordered the knife-wielding 22-year-old man to drop his weapon. He refused, but left the restaurant. The armed citizen then followed him outside, convinced him to drop the knife and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived. The suspect was charged with attempted aggravated robbery. The sheriff’s office credited the concealed-carry permit holder with “heroic actions” that prevented injury or loss of life. Armed Citizen Extra
An armed and vigilant citizen intervened to save a woman in distress one Thursday afternoon. According to witnesses, a man was fighting two sisters on a lawn, before driving off with one of them. When the two stopped off at a gas station however, it was clear the woman was being held against her will. As a result, a concerned citizen drew his sidearm and attempted to hold the alleged kidnapper until police arrived, though the man ended up fleeing through some nearby fields, where he was eventually found by police. The woman was still in the vehicle at the gas station, and told officers that her kidnapper had attempted to sexually assault her. She was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries to her legs and face. (redding.com, Redding, Calif., 9/27/2019)
