An alleged home intruder was treated for a gunshot wound after ignoring verbal warnings from an armed homeowner in North Carolina.

At 11:20 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2023, police say the suspect broke a window in the house and attempted to get inside. The man inside the house armed himself and told officers he provided several verbal warnings for the suspect, who still attempted to get into the abode.

After the ignored warnings, the homeowner fired once, hitting the 35-year-old alleged intruder. Police arrived on scene and found the wounded man, who was taken to an area hospital. Investigators said no charges have been filed against the homeowner. (ABC 11; Knightdale, N.C.; 12/1/23)

As Donald Carter of Rapid City, S.D., passed a service station in the early morning hours, he noticed a man entering the station through a window. Carter hurried to his home, told his wife to call police and then returned to the station with his rifle. Carter held the burglar at gunpoint until police arrived. (Rapid City Daily Journal)

Why the Murder Rate Quickly Fell to a Likely Historic Low

If the gun-control Left is to be believed, then the murder rate in the U.S. should be going up. After all, gun sales and ownership rates have been rising for the last few decades and anti-gun groups claim that gun ownership is the cause of violent crime. This, of course, is nonsense.
