Armed Citizen® Today

Two would-be thieves are in custody after attempting a robbery during a Facebook Marketplace meetup in a local store parking lot, according to police in Jackson, Miss.

Officers say the 25-year-old victim met two suspects, a 24-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, in an agreed-upon meetup in the lot. Once the suspects arrived, the armed man attempted to rob the 25-year-old seller of his property. The seller, threatened by the gun-wielding suspect, drew his own firearm, and the two exchanged gunfire, resulting in both men being wounded.

Both the victim and the male suspect were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. The 24-year-old man was expected to face charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle upon his release from the hospital. The female suspect has been charged with accessory to robbery. (WAPT 16 News; Jackson, Miss.; 11/12/24)

After barging into an Albuquerque, N.M., apartment with a baseball bat, a man threw the female occupant on a bed. The woman managed to stab her attacker with a pair of scissors, and while he tended to his wound, she got a handgun. As he attempted to batter down the bedroom door the woman had locked in his absence, she fired and killed him. (The Tribune; Albuquerque, N.M.)
