Armed Citizen® Today

A hammer-wielding home invader was stopped by an armed homeowner in Denison, Texas, according to local police.

Officers arrived on scene at about 4:30 on February 19 to a wounded home invader who had been shot by the homeowner. The armed homeowner told officers that the suspect had forced his way through the front door with the hammer. The resident told the invader to leave, but instead, the suspect attacked the homeowner with the hammer, forcing him to open fire.

The wounded intruder was flown to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition. (kxii.com; Denison, Texas; 2/19/24)

Shortly after midnight, two armed men burst into Rita Barron's Miami, Fla., rooming house. After the intruders robbed several roomers, Mr. Barron's husband jumped one thief. In the confusion, Mrs. Barron got to her pistol and fired five shots. Two shots hit one bandit, who fell dead. The other escaped. (The Miami News)
