Sellmark Corporation’s donation to a GunBroker Charity auction last month—benefiting Brotherhood For the Fallen (BFTF)—helped raise $12,225 for the charitable organization. The auction’s contents included a one-of-a-kind Phoenix Weaponry AR-15, Thin-Blue-Line Kopfjäger Carbon Fiber Reaper Grip Kit, Pulsar Thermion XG50 thermal riflescope and Hornady ammunition. Proceeds went to the Dallas Chapter of BFTF, which was established after five Dallas police officers died in the line of duty in July 2016. The donation is part of Sellmark’s continuing pledge to Back the Blue.

BFTF’s mission is to provide emotional and financial support for the families of fallen police officers. Composed of volunteers, including active officers, the charity sends representatives to 40 to 45 funerals across America each year to comfort widows, children and coworkers of the deceased. BFTF initially provided $250 to the stricken families, but as the charity has grown, it now gives up to $1,500. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization has expanded to eight chapters across America.

Sellmark also participated in an auction on GunBroker last month in which the proceeds benefitted the efforts of the Texas Game Warden Association. High bid was $9,025 for a special-edition Phoenix Weaponry AR-15, Kopfjäger Reaper Grip, Pulsar Thermion XG50 thermal riflescope and Hornady ammunition.

The Texas Game Warden Association (TGWA) funds outdoor adventures, experiences and scholarships for disadvantaged youth. Generally, the TGWA pairs a youth with a Texas Game Warden and they embark on a hunting, fishing or conservation trip together. TGWA is also a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization.

Sellmark understands the positive impact the efforts of both organizations make, stating in its press releases that, “Each year, police officers work under increasingly difficult conditions incited by anti-police rhetoric. Police work is complex, challenging and dangerous. The brave men and women who comprise the ‘thin blue line’ that separates order from chaos deserve our respect and gratitude.”

In addition, the company stated it views the TGWA program as important because, “It is easier to build strong children than to fix broken adults. Sellmark Corporation believes children should all be able to breathe fresh air, enjoy sunshine and spend time in natural surroundings.”
