NRA EVP and CEO Doug Hamlin, Douglas County, Colo., sheriff’s deputies and Under Sheriff Jason Kennedy
Earlier this week, National Rifle Association Executive Vice President and CEO Doug Hamlin and NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) Executive Director John Commerford traveled to Denver, Colo. The visit focused on showing support for local law enforcement and discussing the vital importance of the upcoming November 2026 midterm elections.
Colorado has emerged as a focal point in the ongoing battle over Second Amendment rights. Despite a significant portion of its citizens—close to half—being law-abiding gun owners, restrictive policies continue to limit their constitutional freedoms. The NRA remains committed to defending these rights through aggressive legal challenges in the courts and determined legislative efforts at both state and federal levels.
During their time in Denver, Hamlin and Commerford met with Dave Liniger, the legendary American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and co-founder of RE/MAX Realty—the world’s largest global real estate organization. A Vietnam combat veteran and lifelong advocate for the right to keep and bear arms, Liniger is a true American icon and steadfast supporter of law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment rights.
The visit also included a live interview with Doug Hamlin on The Jeff and Bill Show on 710 KNUS in Denver. Hamlin addressed pressing local Second Amendment issues facing Colorado gun owners. You can watch the full interview on YouTube.
The NRA will continue its work to protect the freedoms of Colorado’s responsible gun owners. With critical elections on the horizon, the message is clear: law-abiding citizens must remain engaged, informed, and united in defense of their constitutional rights.
