The Anaconda revolver is a re-launch of one of the most legendary offerings in Colt’s “Snake Gun” lineup. Colt’s first models of the .44 Magnum-chambered Anaconda hit the market in 1990, ending after a short production run in 2003. Now, following the re-launch of the .357 Mag. Python, the Colt Anaconda is back and better than ever before.

Colt’s Anaconda is made from stainless steel and outfitted with recoil-absorbing Hogue rubber grips. The large-frame revolver is available with either a 6” or 8” barrel, which is topped by the classic ventilated rib. A full-length lug supports the gun’s barrel to the muzzle where a target-style crown is provided for enhanced accuracy and recoil mitigation.

There are a number of differences between the first-generation line of Anacondas and this revised version. The most important change is one you can’t see, but it’s certainly noticeable. The incorporation of Colt’s Linear Leaf Spring Action produces one of the smoothest, most consistent double-action trigger pulls on the market, and the single-action pull is crisp, clean and short. Additionally, the trigger guard has been enlarged slightly to account for gloved hands, perfect for brisk mornings on a fall hunt.

On the top strap is an adjustable rear sight with a post front with red insert. In addition, the DA/SA revolver is drilled and tapped for optic mounts, which combined with Colt’s Linear Leaf Spring Action for a smooth and consistent double- and single-action trigger pull, Colt’s Anaconda chambered in .44 Mag, makes this a great option for handgun hunters.
