For 2023, Diamondback Firearms has announced it will offer its latest Sidekick wheelgun with a trim, Birsdhead-style grip frame and removable stock panels, making for a handier and more concealable rimfire option in the growing line-up of double-action revolvers. The gun is a convertible, too, which further extends the capability of the platform.

“We are proud to offer the new Sidekick Birdshead,” mentioned Grant Hoskins, Diamondback Firearms Marketing Manager. “It is the perfect second edition to the already popular Diamondback Sidekick. Just like its big brother, it will include interchangeable cylinders from .22 LR to .22 Mag.”

The Diamondback Sidekick Birdshead is priced at $327, and with it comes the same double-action functionality as its predecessor, along with a quick-change cylinder design that allows users to rotate from .22 LR to .22 WMR quite simply. Both chamberings allow for nine rounds within the Cerakote-finished steel cylinder. The swing-out cylinders have an extractor star and knurled pushrod for easy reloading.

Billed as a compact revolver, the Sidekick Birdshead measures 4.95”-tall and 7.83”-long and made of Cerakote-finished zinc. Reports of 2-lb., single-action trigger pulls are noted, which is a boon to those looking to place quick and accurate rounds on target. Diamondback includes a 3” steel barrel on this model, and a Patridge style blade sight is near the muzzle. A sighting notch is found in the frame’s top strap. The barrel comes with a 1:16” RH twist for bullet stabilization. For more information, visit diamondbackfirearms.com.
