American Rifleman's Handgun of the Year for 2020, the Springfield Armory Hellcat, has been expanded to include standard and OSP models finished in flat dark earth. The new finish is provided by a durable Cerakote treatment on the frame and slide. Other components on the gun are finished black to provide a contrasting look that's durable and attractive.

Produced by HS Produkt in Croatia, the Springfield Armory Hellcat is the next step in the company's ever-evolving lineup of concealed-carry guns. The gun stands out in the market of CCW options, thanks to its patented magazine design, which packs 11 rounds in a flush-fit configuration similar in size to many of today's single-stack carry guns with half the capacity. A 13-round extended magazine is also available.

"Every detail of the Hellcat has been shaped by a singular mission—to deliver the definitive concealed carry handgun," said Dennis Reese, CEO of Springfield Armory and recipient of the Golden Bullseye Pioneer Award for 2020.

In keeping with its guise as a pure defensive pistol, the Springfield Armory Hellcat is equipped with a trademarked U-Dot sighting system, complete with a high-visibility front sight illuminated by a tritium insert and a U-notch rear sight that includes a "tactical-rack" ledge that allows owners to rack the gun off a flat surface with one hand.

On OSP models of the Springfield Armory Hellcat, this low-light sighting system is paired with a milled slide that allows owners to mount a number of popular red-dot optics to their gun. When not in use, a seamless cover plate blends into the contours of the slide, giving the gun the same sleek look as the standard model.

Suggested retail pricing for FDE models of the Springfield Armory Hellcat starts at $610 for the standard model, while the OSP variant retails for $643. For more information, visit springfield-armory.com.
