Springfield Armory’s Echelon gave the company a modern and modular handgun for both the law enforcement and civilian markets. With the platform's growing popularity, the company has added new sizes, features and finishes to its Echelon models. New for 2026, the Springfield Echelon Pro Comp, according to the company, “adds a wide range of performance-oriented enhancements to further expand this platform’s already impressive capabilities.”

The Echelon Pro Comp adds updated features to Springfield Armory’s Echelon platform.

The Pro model of the Echelon builds on the features introduced with the series. Its basis is a modular serialized chassis, which the company calls the “Central Operating Group,” with bilateral controls for full ambidexterity. The billet-machined steel slide is designed for easy manipulation and uses the Variable Interface System optics mount, which allows multiple optic footprints to be mounted directly to the slide without the use of adapter plates.

Among upgrades to the Echelon Pro is a flared metal magazine well that is removable.

The Echelon Pro has numerous upgrades over the standard model. It introduces a new Badlands “cracked earth” texturing on its polymer grip module that is formed using LightForge precision laser technology. According to the company, the texturing “delivers the aggressive look and tactile feel of custom hand stippling.” A flared machined steel magazine well speeds up reloads with extended magazines, but it is removable for use with flush-fitting magazines.

The Echelon Pro combines the integral compensator barrel of Springfield’s Comp models with new grip module texturing.

As introduced in the Echelon Comp models, the Pro has an integral compensator. Its Melonite-finished hammer-forged barrel has a port in the upper part behind the barrel that interfaces with a port in the slide. The captive recoil system uses a stainless steel guide rod. Iron sights are a front post with a tritium dot inside an orange luminescent ring and a serrated black tactical rack U-notch rear. The Pro model combines its black grip module with a grey Cerakote finish on the slide.

The Echelon Pro adds upgraded features to Springfield Armory’s popular duty and carry modular handgun.

Like the rest of the Echelon lineup, the Pro Comp is available in three configurations. The 4.5F uses a full-size slide with a 4.5-inch barrel and a full-size grip module that will accommodate a 17-round, flush-fit magazine. A “hybrid” model, the 4.0FC combines the full-size grip module with the compact slide that houses a 4-inch barrel. Both of these models come with three 20-round extended magazines. The 4.0C combines the 4-inch barrel with a compact grip module that will fit a 15-round flush-fit magazine. It comes with three extended 18-round magazines.

The Echelon Pro is available in three established size profiles used by the entire Echelon line.

All three models of the Springfield Armory Echelon Pro Comp have an MSRP of $899. For more information, see the company’s website.
