To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Beretta’s first semi-automatic pistol, Beretta has released a Limited Edition 92 Centennial pistol—the Beretta Model 1915.

The original Beretta Model 1915 was adopted by the Italian forces one month after Italy entered World War I. Since then, dozens more models of semi-automatic pistols have been produced by Beretta, including the Beretta M9, which this year is marking its 30th anniversary as the official sidearm of the United States Armed Forces.

"It's not every day a company is able to celebrate a 100th anniversary of anything, so we decided several years ago to start a project which would lead to the creation of this unique Beretta handgun,” said Ryan Muety, vice president of sales and marketing for Beretta USA.

This fully functional commemorative 92 Centennial pistol takes strong design cues from the original Model 1915. The high brush steel framed pistol features a frame safety, single-action-only configuration. The years 1915 and 2015 are engraved in Roman numerals on either side of the Brigadier-style slide. The same numerals are featured around the medallion logo in the center of the premium grade wood grip panels. The pistols and the certificate of authenticity are presented in a uniquely designed ammunition can bearing the 92 Centennial logo.

Only 500 units of this pistol are available through a select network of dealers and the Beretta Galleries in Dallas and Memphis. To find a Beretta dealer near you visit beretta.com.
