SPRINGFIELD ARMORY is continuing to push the boundaries of popular firearm categories this year. Fresh off the launch of the Hellcat micro-compact pistol the company has introduced the Saint Edge EVAC—perhaps the most portable AR pistol developed to date.

Pistols chambered in .223 Rem./5.56x45 mm NATO and built around AR-15-style semi-automatic action are surging in popularity for range and defensive use. Springfield’s EVAC is advancing the platform in terms of compact portability by employing a Pantheon Arms-licensed takedown mechanism that allows the 7.5" barrel/fore-end assembly to be quickly detached and reattached.

The profile of the EVAC is further reduced thanks to a side-folding Law Tactical Gen 3M stock adaptor paired with a Gear Head Works Tailhook Mod 1 brace, as well as the shortened Reptilia CQG pistol grip.

A 20-round Magpul PMAG is included—the EVAC can, of course, accept and use standard-capacity 30-rounders, but the smaller magazine aligns nicely with the shortened grip.
