The original Back Country, introduced five years ago, had a stainless-steel barrel and a pillar-bedded stock. The new Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 Back Country has a 24" fluted-barrel featuring chrome moly metalwork with a CeraKote Tactical Grey finish that is extremely weather resistant, and avoids corrosion. The pillar-bedded, Monte Carlo composite stock has spiderweb accents. This rifle is 6.75 lbs., which is perfect for the hunter who plans to put a ton of bootprints on the ground and needs something a little lighter.
