Late one night in West Philadelphia, a storeowner was at the counter of his business when a masked man with a gun entered the building. The man then tried to rob the store as the owner and a clerk were inside. The owner pulled out his pistol and fired at the masked robber, who was hit in the stomach. The robber fired several missed shots at the storeowner as he fled the premises and entered a getaway car. Police later found the masked man unconscious in the driver’s seat of a car with a pistol on his lap. The robber was pronounced dead at the hospital. (philly.com, Philadelphia, 3/14/19)
