Early one evening, a 75-year-old woman was at home when she heard repeated knocking on her front door. When she answered, she was shocked to find two men, one of which was pointing a handgun at her. The men entered the home and tied the woman's hands behind her back. Luckily, she was able to free her hands and disarm the armed robber. During the struggle, the woman was a able to retrieve a handgun from a nightstand, causing both robbers to flee. A couple of days later, police located the men and arrested them. One was charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony other than theft and the other was charged with forgery. (Amarillo Globe-News, Amarillo, TX, 12/28/17)

July 1962
The owner of a market in Columbus, Ohio, Theodore Patsioures, pretended to follow the orders of two bandits who had entered the store and demanded money, but instead he triggered a homemade alarm system which was wired to a doorbell in the living room of his home adjoining the store. His 63-year-old wife heard the distress signal, picked up a pistol, and ran to the scene. One of the yeggs had fled when the alarm went off, but the other was still there when Mrs. Patsioures arrived. She held him at gunpoint until police took her prisoner away. President’s Column | President Meets President

I am quite certain, that for the first time in NRA history the President of the United States met with the NRA president, the NRA president asked for his support for national Right-to-Carry (NRTC), and then, on a national stage, President Trump called out the NRA president’s name and pledged his support for national Right-to-Carry legislation. Political Report | Trump Reiterates National Right-to-Carry Support

I am repeatedly reminded of how critical it was that the NRA engaged early in supporting Donald Trump’s 2016 candidacy—and that he won. A recent example came in June, when President Trump spoke to American workers at a Mack Trucks facility in Macungie, Pa.
