Armed Citizen® Today

A couple in North Freedom, Wis. were forced to defend themselves in the early morning hours of Monday, June 29th from an armed intruder who forced his way into their home.

The intruder turned out to be the couple's 37-year-old son, who went to the home armed with a firearm and began to shoot into the residence through the windows and walls. The son then went to the side of the home and onto the deck, where he shot out the glass of the side patio door. After shooting the glass, the son entered the residence and fired several more times inside the residence, reloading at least once.

The parents fled into the basement of the residence as the son fired. At some point after the son entered the residence, he made his way down the hallway towards the entrance of the basement. There, the son was confronted by one of his parents who was also armed. The parent shot at the armed son, hitting him several times. None of the parents were injured in the incident, and authorities arrived around 3:45 A.M.

Police found the damage to the home and the son in the hallway with several gunshot wounds. The son was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. (WISCNEWS.COM, Madison, Wis., 06/29/2020)
