Armed Citizen® Today

A 24-year-old Firearms Owner Identification (FOID) card holder in Chicago, Ill., was forced to defend himself inside his own vehicle from a deadly assault on the afternoon of Sunday, August 16.

The incident happened as the FOID and concealed carry cardholder was sitting inside his parked vehicle around 2 p.m. It was then that another man approached his vehicle. The other man walked up to the vehicle, drew a handgun and fired several rounds through the window at close range.

The cardholder was struck by at least one of the shots in his right shoulder in the process. Wounded but still conscious, the card holder pulled out his handgun and returned fire on his attacker from his seat inside the car. The return fire hit the assailant, also a 24-year-old, in the torso. Both men were taken to a local medical center. (fox32.com, Chicago, Ill., 08/16/2020)
