domestic dispute escalated into violence one evening in Nebo, N.C., as a 69-year-old woman got into an altercation with her grandson, who was described as agitated over a grievance. In response, the young man allegedly dragged his grandmother and her wheelchair outside of the house and began to assault her. The elderly woman’s son-in-law, who lives near the residence, witnessed the commotion. Pulling out his firearm, the son-in-law shot the young man in the leg to prevent further injury to her. The grandmother had suffered injuries to her hands, arms and neck, and her assailant has been charged with assault as deputies of the McDowell County Sheriff’s office continue to investigate. Two Ohio realtors had to resort to their sidearms after confronting an armed man at one of their empty properties. The real estate agents entered the property, which had reportedly been broken into the day before, and found the man there. He reportedly punched one of them in the face, and threatened them both with the gun and knife he claimed to be carrying. At this point, the younger of the father-son real-estate duo drew his firearm, while his father held the man down and a neighbor called the police. The unwelcome intruder was taken into custody and charger with assault, menacing and trespassing. (local12.com, Hamilton, Ohio, 3/12/19)
