Springfield Armory has released the 9 mm XD(M) Optical Sight Pistol (OSP) with a threaded barrel and an additional (included) non-threaded barrel.

The optics-ready pistol features a factory milled slide and co-witness suppressor height iron sights, allowing the operator to choose the optic and silencer that fits his or her needs. As an option, the OSP comes with a Vortex Venom pre-installed, three-MOA red dot sight for fast, precision target acquisition. The Venom features 10 levels of brightness and a top-loading battery compartment that allows the optic to maintain zero through battery replacement.

Out of the box, the XD(M) OSP is ready-to-go with the threaded barrel and thread protector installed. A non-threaded barrel is provided for those who would like to swap between using a suppressor or going without, or for those frequenting states where there are restrictions on threaded barrels.

The 4.5" Melonite treated hammer-forged steel barrel complements the addition of a suppressor, providing a balanced weight and resulting in a soft-shooting pistol. A one piece full-length guide rod manages recoil and helps to keep rounds on target through rapid fire. The Mega-Lock grip texturing provides a comfortable yet secure hand fit with a full-size grip frame—a signature feature among XD(M) pistols. Interchangeable backstraps options (small, medium and large) are further customize the grip to the hand of the shooter.

"You have the versatility of both the threaded and non-threaded barrel without the hassle of going aftermarket which tends to produce complications in fit," says Springfield Armory VP of Marketing Steve Kramer. "Because our barrels are factory crafted, there is no risk of an ill-fitting barrel, and we are able to provide the kit at a lower cost to our customers."

The craftsmanship of the XD(M) provides a consistent and reliable platform for the flexibility to conduct a variety of missions. Mounting plates for the Vortex Venom, Burris FastFire 2, Burris FastFire 3, Leupold DeltaPoint, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, JPoint Sights, and Trijicon RMR are included. The XD(M) OSP kit ships with two 19-round magazines. Two 10-round magazines are available for those who live in magazine-capacity restricted states.

MSRP XD(M) OSP w/Threaded Barrel: $710
MSRP XD(M) OSP w/Threaded Barrel & Vortex Venom: $958
