Q: I have a bayonet that I can’t identify. There are no markings on it anywhere. The blade measures 11.75" with an overall length of 16.5". It weighs slightly more than 1 lb. Can you help?

A: Your bayonet is a British Pattern 1888 Mark II that was originally developed for use with Long Lee-Enfield rifles. It is a variation of the earlier P1888 Mark I that was issued with Lee-Metford rifles.
