Tennessee-based SDS Imports has developed a full catalog of high-quality imported firearms of classic designs, from the M1911 to the MP5, under several equally iconic brand names. One of these is Military Armament Corporation (MAC), and it is under this banner that SDS is introducing the new-for-2025 MAC IX pistol.

The MAC IX is a semi-automatic, commercial handgun version of a firearm designed for military and law-enforcement users.

The Turkish-made MAC IX is a “large format” semi-automatic handgun chambered in 9 mm Luger that combines features of the AR-15 with those of the MP5. Based on a submachine gun manufactured for military and law-enforcement sales, it uses a blowback-operated action and feeds from MP5-pattern magazines.

The MAC IX’s upper and lower receivers are made of 7075 T6 aluminum alloy and given a hard anodized finish and it also has a steel spring-loaded dustcover. Its chrome-lined 6.5” barrel is made of 4140 steel and Melonite coated, and has a tri-lug adapter machined into its muzzle, as well as 1/2x28 TPI threads, for attaching suppressors and other muzzle accessories. Controls are ambidextrous, with a bilateral safety lever, AR-15-style rear charging handle, and an MP5-style magazine release system that includes both a magazine release button and a paddle-type magazine release. A bolt release is positioned on the left side.

Highly customizable, the MAC IX has an aluminum handguard with M-Lok slots on the sides and bottom, and a Picatinny rail on the top that makes a seamless match with the rail on the top of the upper receiver. In addition to the optics mounting rail, the pistol is supplied with iron sights that are adjustable and detachable. A section of Picatinny rail at the rear of the receiver allows for the attachment of slings and support braces. The pistol grip, charging handle and fire control components are compatible with AR-15 parts.
