Rossi firearms has had a bit of a revival as of late, from the reintroduction of its classic revolvers to innovative new designs, like the Brawler pistols. Each of the company's new models showcase a commitment to unique but affordable firearms. This is clearly exhibited with its new-for-2025 RS22 pistol.

The Rossi RS22 pistol takes the semi-automatic .22 LR action of the RS22 rifle and places it into a compact pistol chassis.

The RS22 is based around the blowback-operated, semi-automatic .22 Long Rifle action as used in the RS22 rifle. Compatible with all RS22 rifle magazines, the pistol version ships with a 10-round magazine with a polymer cover. Like the rifle, the pistol uses an aluminum alloy receiver which is given a matte black finish and a crossbolt safety is mounted in the front of the trigger guard. Its alloy steel barrel is 6” and has its muzzle threaded 1/2x28 TPI and is supplied with a thread protector. No iron sights are supplied, but the pistol comes with an aluminum Picatinny optics rail installed.

The brace, when folded, adds only 0.8” to the RS22’s overall length and 10.75 ozs. to the pistol’s weight.

The barreled action is placed into a unique polymer “chassis.” The chassis uses an AR-style pistol grip and has a Picatinny accessory rail molded onto the fore-end. At the rear of the chassis is a molded-in Picatinny rail that can be used to attach a sling mount or stabilizing brace. Rossi offers the pistol with an optional Strike Industries FSA folding stabilized brace.

The standard pistol has an overall length of 14.06” and weighs 2.23 lbs. The brace equipped version is 22.75” overall with the brace extended and weighs 2.90 lbs. The Rossi RS22 pistol has an MSRP of $190 or $400 with the folding brace. For more information, see the company’s website.
