Though known for its M1A rifles and 1911 pistols, Springfield Armory added another classic American firearm design to its product line when the company introduced the Saint AR-15 rifle in 2016. Over the years, Springfield has expanded its Saint products, adding .308 Win. and 9 mm Luger versions, as well as billet lower Edge and enhanced Victor models. For 2023, Springfield is adding a new Saint with a unique feature for an AR-15—a folding stock.

The Saint Victor line-up includes what Springfield calls “premium features out-of-the-box.” The bolt is high pressure tested (HPT) and magnetic particle inspected (MPI) for strength and reliability. Bolt and 16” barrel are Melonite-treated. The fire-control group is an enhanced single-stage Nickel Boron-coated unit with a flat trigger. The lower receiver uses Springfield’s “Accu-Tite” tension system for maximum accuracy and the safety is bilateral.

Each rifle is fitted with a 15” free-floating handguard with generous M-Lok slots on the sides and bottom and an interrupted section of M1913 Picatinny rail on top. The handguard's rear rail section helps to extend the receiver's top rail by supplying two additional slots and a small section on the muzzle end is supplied for mounting a front sight. The space between is left smooth for a “thumb over” support grip. A low-profile gas block is pinned in place underneath and attaches to a mid-length gas system. Saint Victor firearms are supplied with Springfield-branded metal adjustable flip-up sights and a Springfield-designed four-port muzzle brake. The receiver end plate has a QD sling swivel socket. Stock, trigger guard and grip are by B5 Systems, with the stock being the company's Enhanced SOPMOD model. All Saint Victor rifles are supplied with a soft carrying case.

The LAW Tactical AR Folding Stock Adapter is designed to allow the normally fixed AR-15 receiver extension, which houses the buffer and action spring, to fold, shortening the overall length of the firearm for storage and transport. The LAW system does this by adding a “knuckle” right behind the rear of the receiver that hinges. An extension is added to the bolt carrier so it can contact the buffer. While the LAW adapter is designed so that the firearm will not be damaged if it is fired while folded, this practice is not recommended. It was formerly offered on Springfield’s now-discontinued Edge EVAC pistol.

The Springfield Saint Victor with LAW Tactical Folder weighs 7 lbs., 3 ozs. and has an overall length of 38” or 26.5” with the stock folded. It has an MSRP of $1,363. For more information, visit springfield-armory.com.
