Bergara Premier Mglite Rifle

For 2022, Bergara has unveiled a new addition to its Premier series of bolt-action rifles, with the Premier MgLite rifle. Being a Premier series rifle, the new MgLite has a PREMIER action, which features a non-rotating gas shield, a coned bolt nose and a sliding plate extractor. The bolt itself uses a two locking-lug system, with a separate floating bolt head in order to make contact the lugs abutments in the action. 

The bolt body itself is made from stainless steel, with a pad in the back which accepts a thread-in bolt handle. The bolt head, gas shield and bolt shroud are Nitride treated for added durability and corrosion resistance. Other features of the MgLite includes a lightweight XLR Element 4.0 magnesium chassis and a Bergara No.6 CURE carbon fiber barrel, resulting in a low overall weight for the entire rifle between 6.7 to 6.8 lbs.

The CURE carbon barrels are available in 22" and 24" lengths, along with chambering in 6.5 mm Creedmoor in 1:8" t.p.i., 6.5 mm PRC in 1:8" t.p.i., .308 Win. in 1:10" t.p.i. and .300 Win. Mag. in 1:10 t.p.i. the muzzles of the barrels are also threaded for 5/8-24" and come with an Omni muzzle brake installed. As for the XLR Element chassis, it features a folding carbon-fiber butt, carbon-fiber pistol grip and a free floating fore-end with M-Lok slots machined into the sides and bottom. It it also compatible with AICS box magazines, of which the MgLite comes with one five-round magazine.

For controls, the MgLite has a magazine release lever just behind the magazine well, and a two-position push safety that is a part of the trigger group. The trigger itself is a TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology trigger, which allows the bolt to be manipulated even with the safety engaged. The action comes in a Graphite Black Cerakote finish, while the chassis comes in tan.

The suggested retail price of the MgLite ranges from $3,229 to $3,349, depending on barrel and caliber selection. For more information on the Bergara Premier Series MgLite rifle, visit bergara.online.
